Kainaat Arora doing item song with Ajith!

Kollywood is importing its newest item girl from Bollywood via Ajith’s 50th film ‘Mankatha’.

She is the gorgeous Kainaat Arora who wooed the audience in the song 'Aila Re Aila' from ‘Khatta Meetha’ directed by Priyadarshan. Yes, the same film that introduced our Trisha to Bollywood.

 

Kainaat Arora is just back from doing an item song in ‘Mankatha’. She shot for the song with Ajith for four days. So what was it like dancing along with Thala. Kainaat has no words to narrate it. She raves about him and says” he is not only a great actor but a great human being too.”

Ajith on his part surprised the bombshell with his customary culinary skills too. During the four days, one day Ajith surprised Kainaat with boiled chicken, on another day he made lovely dosas and chicken soup for her.

All said and done, Kainaat is sure that her hot item song with Ajith in the film will be a visual treat to all. Let’s hope so.

Ajith’s Mankatha:”Last schedule planned in Mumbai”

With little more than two months left for ‘Mankatha’ to hit the screens, the cast and crew of ‘Thala’ Ajith’s 50th film are extremely busy with the project. “The team led by Venkat Prabhu is working overtime to get things right,” sources say.

“The shooting is almost over but for the last schedule which is planned in Mumbai. It will start in the last week of this month. Important scenes on Ajith and Trisha will be shot there,” they maintain.

Confirming this, Trisha, who will join the ‘Mankatha’ team in Mumbai on February 26, says, “I already had a blast working with Ajith, Venkat and others. Eagerly looking forward for the Mumbai schedule.”

Claiming that he film will be a complete entertainer, the actress adds: “It is going to be a rollicking movie and a treat to the audience.” Buzz is that ‘Mankatha’ is about gambling that takes place during cricket matches.

Anushka replaces Naynthara

Latest news about Anushka is that she will be starting in Billa 2. This movie will be starting in April. They are expecting actress Nayantara to do the same glamour role as Nayantara did in Billa 1.

Pairing with Ajith many believe that actress Anushka will be that perfect pair to give more spiciness to the movie. Director Vishnuvardhan is directing the movie while Nirav Shah handling the camera.

Ajith’s Mankatha team goes to Mumbai

The way Cloud Nine is going about trying to stick to schedules has helped Venkat Prabhu to complete a major portion of his Ajith golden jubilee film Mankatha.

Now the unit is all set to go to Mumbai and shoot in Dharavi, one of the world's biggest slums.  One of the most difficult things is to shoot a multi-starrer. Not only you have to coordinate artist dates, but also see to it that you shoot on time at the given locations.

A big film like Mankatha which has Ajith, along with an ensemble cast including Arjun, Trisha, Lakshmi Rai, Sneha, Anjali, Vaibhav Reddy and Premji Amaren.

If all goes well, the film may be wrapped up by the first week of March and then the post production has to start.

The film is said to revolve around a gambling gang who indulges in cricket betting during IPL season.

Cloud Nine is almost certain to release Mankatha on May 1, Ajith's birthday and the start of the summer season in Kollywood.

It is the best time to release a biggie and there is unlikely to be any competition.

Ajith’s ‘Billa-2’ to be completed in 90 days

Vishnuvardhan is finally ready to direct his favourite star Ajith once again. The ‘Billa’ duo will this time come together for ‘Billa-2’, a prequel to the blockbuster. The film will go on floors in April, once the Thala completes his 50th venture ‘Mankatha’.

“The script is ready long back and Vishnuvardhan is just waiting for Ajith to complete Mankatha. Billa-2 will be completed in 90 days and will hit the screens in 2011 itself,” say sources in the know.

They add: “Vishnuvardhan has always completed shoots of all his earlier films in three months. So he has decided to wrap up Billa-2 too within the same time. His script, which has all the technical details, will come to his rescue to achieve the target.”

Besides ‘Billa-2’, Vishnuvardhan also has in hands a Telugu project with Pawan Kalyan. Titled ‘The Shadow’, the film is a high voltage action entertainer which will have some big names in its cast.

Ajith ‘Mankatha’ new updates!

Here are the latest happenings from ‘Mankatha’ front. Venkat Prabhu has finished picturising three songs for the film. Ajith Intro Song that was shot in Bangkok, A kuthu song involving Ajith with Premji, Vaibhav and others shot in Chennai and a duet featuring Ajith and Trisha, also shot in Chennai. With this major development ‘Mankatha’ has completed 50 percent of its talkie portions.

And an important action scene was also completed. The highlight of this stunt sequence is that Ajith performed the actions with a Body Mount Camera weighing around 30kg mounted on his body to capture the close actions when he runs, walks and turns.

It’s a known fact that Ajith had lot of surgeries on his body and the actor avoids taking risks while shooting. But when Venkat Prabhu came up with this unique idea, Thala readily agreed. Mankatha‘s Chennai portions will get over by Monday and then the unit will move to Mumbai for the rest of the portions.

The thriller starring Ajith, Arjun, Trisha, Anjali, Lakshmi Rai,Premji, Vaibhav, Makath, Jayaprakash and Subbu Panju is about gambling mafia at work during IPL cricket season.

Anushka sign Billa-2 opposite Ajith?

Anushka Shetty continues to be Kollywood's most in demand actress to do big films.

The latest we hear is that Sweety as she is known among friends has been pencilled in to do Billa-2 with Tamil Cinema's most handsome superstar Ajith.

The good news is that Billa-2 will start rolling in the middle of April. The film is being produced by Suresh Balaji, son of the legendary producer K Balaji who originally made Rajinikanth's Billa.

Vishnuvardhan is the director and Yuvan Shankar Raja will provide music. Nirav Shah is the cameraman.

Now the big heroine hunt has started for the film. Vishnu and the makers are looking for somebody who can carry off a glam role with ease.

A source close to the development said: "The team is looking at a girl who can spring a surprise in a glam role like what Nayanthara did in Billa-1. As of now only Anushka fits the bill and her pairing with Ajith would make the film red hot".

However the trouble is that the actress is not showing any interest in doing glam roles in Tamil.  In Vettaikaran and Singam, Anushka did not wear any revealing clothes compared to her Telugu films. Remember she sizzled doing Nayanthara's role in Billa Telugu.

Meanwhile Anushka who plays a lawyer in Vijay directed Deivamagan, does not romance Vikram nor does she have a song in it.  Anyway let us hope Anushka signs up Billa-2, a film that is sure to take her to new heights.

Mankatha’s main factor…

We had reported earlier that a set depicting the Mumbai’s slum Dharavi has been erected at a studio in Chennai for Mankatha’s shooting. The unit is busy with the next schedule of work which will be shot in this set.

It has also been confirmed now that for the first time, Ajith and Arjun will be teaming up for Mankatha. Apart from them, Trisha, Lakshmi Rai, Subbu Panchu, Premji Amaren, Mahath, Ashwin, Vaibhav and Jai Prakash are included in the star cast.

Director Venkat Prabhu’s favorite cameraman Shakthi Saravanan once again joins his camp to wield the camera. Praveen Srikanth will edit this film. Kalyan and Shoby are the choreographers and stunts are by Selva.

Vaali and Gangai Amaren have penned the lyrics and Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music. Three songs have been completed yet and a popular personality is to be roped in for rendering a song in this film. However, details about this personality are closely guarded till now.

The final schedule of Mankatha will be shot in Mumbai and Hyderabad in February is the additional info from the team.

Director Venkat Prabhu and his team are working tirelessly to ensure Mankatha's success. Being Ajith's 50th, it has already created hype among the audience, especially his fans. There are already speculations about who will be the film's heroine(s). The latest news from the unit is that Mankatha is expected to release in summer 2011. Yes, fans can watch 'Thala' on the silver screen in May, 2011.

Trisha completes Manmadhan Ambu shoot

Recently, Trisha has completed the shoot of her much-awaited Tamil film Manmadhan Ambu opposite Kamal Haasan. Devi Sri Prasad has composed the music for this film produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin under Red Giant Movies banner. Trisha is teaming up with Kamal Haasan for the first time in their careers. Madhavan will also play a prominent role in this film directed by K.S. Ravikumar.

From the first week of October, Trisha will start working with Gautham Menon on the Hindi version of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, to be directed by Gautham Menon. After that she will shoot for her Telugu film Kushigaa, a remake of Love Aaj Kal, opposite Pawan Kalyan. She will also play a prominent role in Ajith's Mankatha.

AJith Trisha in Mankatha

‘Mankatha’ is springing up more surprises as days are going by. The Venkat Prabhu – Ajith film has already crated a sensation with its first official trailer.

Now the star cast assembling for film is going to put all jaws down. ‘Mankatha’ is going to be the real multi-starrer after many years. So in keeping the sprits high Venkat Prabhu has brought together Ajith, Nagarjuna, Lakshmi Rai, Premji Amaran, Ganesh Venkatraman, debutant Mahat.

Now the latest addition to ‘Mankatha’ is Trisha. Sources say there are a few other big names confirmed for the film and they will be revealed soon. The pre-production work of ‘Mankatha’ is almost complete and Venkat Prabhu may roll the camera anytime from now. The film will have 6 songs and two of them are complete and ready.

Being the 50th film Ajith, most of Ajith’s favourite friends in the industry are doing cameos in ‘Mankatha’. Will Silambarasan also be there? Wait for the moment.

Another thing our sources said was that the role swapping by Ajith and Nagarjuna in Tamil and Telugu version is not happening and the two big stars will play the same role in both the version. It is also categorically said ‘Mankatha’ will not be dubbed in Telugu and a separate independent version will be shot with the same rich cast.

Mangatha trailer on August 20 in all theatres

Things are getting bigger and better for Ajith now! Venkat Prabhu will direct Thala Ajith’s much-awaited 50th film produced by Dhayanidhi Azhagiri of Cloud Nine Productions. This Venkat Prabhu-Ajith multi-starrer, titled Mangatha, was launched at a simple, lowkey function held in Chennai recently.

The latest buzz is that the teaser trailer of Mangatha is ready for screening and will be released in all theatres on August 20, along with Karthi’s much-awaited Naan Mahaan Alla.

Anoushka, Shalini Ajith at Vanilla Children Place

Vanilla Children Place, which is housed at No.89, Bishop Garden, Greenways Road, R.A.Puram, Chennai 28, was re-inaugurated on April 30th, 2010 by Shalini Ajith and daughter Anoushka Ajith. Why Simbu not taking a decision over ‘3 Idiots?

Silambarasan (STR these days) has not yet made a decision whether to act or not in the Tamil remake of Hindi hit ‘3 Idiots’. The reason, according to the actor is, Vijay playing the role played by Aamir Khan in the original.

Speaking to student journalists at a meeting organised by a Tamil weekly magazine in Chennai recently, Simbu said, “I respect Vijay. And it is good to act with him. But Ajith fans like me a lot.”

“I don’t want to hurt the sentiments of Ajith fans. This is the reason behind me not taking a decision over ‘3 Idiots’ so far,” the actor-filmmaker said and added: “Hopefully I would decide on the issue soon.”

Saying that films targeting youngsters have become the order of the day, Silambarasan said this is because of the changing trend of Tamil cinema. “Because, youth subjects are welcomed by the audience these days,” he said.

Neetu Chandra as a heroine for thala

Thala Ajith will team up with Venkat Prabhu for his much awaited 50th film, which is produced by Dayanidhi Azhagiri of Cloud Nine Productions. This Venkat Prabhu-Ajith multi-starrer is tentatively titled Mangatha.

Venkat Prabhu is currently holding talks with a Tollywood superstar (rumoured to be Nagarjuna) for playing another lead role. Yuvanshankar Raja will score the music while Sakthi Saravanan is expected to handle the camera. If all goes well, the project will go on floors in the first week of August. Earlier there were reports that the sensational Anushka will be Ajith's heroine in Mangatha but now it is learnt that Neetu Chandra is likely to play the female lead.

Simbu play a small but meaty role with Ajith

It appears that finally, actor Ajith has made up his mind to re-launch his film career and get started with his next project to be directed by Venkatprabhu. Reports say that the actor has conveyed his ‘whole-hearted’ willingness to the actor-turned-director Venkatprabhu to star in his next film titled ‘Mangatha’.

Ajith is said to be in a hurry to complete the film’s shooting before October this year when he would leave for Europe again to take part in the motor car racing championships. Meanwhile, one hears that actor Simbu, a self-confessed fan of Ajith, may also play a small but meaty role in the film.

Simbu, who imitated Ajith’s ‘Billa’ style in his film ‘Silambattam’ which released last year, is to further reiterate his allegiance to Ajith by starring alongside him in the film. Simbu, who has completed almost 90% of the shooting of his ‘Poda Podi’ in Canada, is said to be planning to shoot the remaining sequences in Tamil Nadu.

Though Simbu isn’t the director of the film which pairs him up opposite Sarath Kumar’s daughter Varalakshmi, it’s a known fact that he ‘ghost’ directs most of his films!

Ajith with Anushka in Mangatha

The Ultimate Star will act in ‘Mangatha’ with Anushka as the heroine!

Anushka made her debut in Tamil films with ‘Rendu.’ She also acted in ‘Vettaikaran’ with Vijay and in ‘Singam’ with Surya. Ajith happens to be the hero of her next film.

Venkat Prabhu directs the film. ‘Mangatha’ is produced by Dayanidhi Azhjagiri. Only yesterday she had signed for the film. It was earlier said that Samantha would be the heroine of the film and Gautham Menon was to have been the director. But it looks like Gautham Menon was removed from the film and so was Samantha.

The story revolves around Mumbai gangsters and it would be a mix of action, romance and comedy.
