Jayam RAvi‘s ‘Thillalangadi’ is ready
Director ‘Jayam’ Raja has completed the shoot of his forthcoming film ‘Thillalangadi’, which has his younger brother ‘Jayam’ Ravi in the lead role. Produced by their father Editor Mohan, release rights of the movie have been reportedly acquired by Sun Pictures.
A remake of Telugu runaway hit ‘Kick’, the Tamil version has Ravi and Tamanna replacing Ravi Teja and Ileana respectively. The film has Vadivelu doing the role played by Brahmanandam in the original.
Shot in Malaysia and Hyderabad, final schedule of the shooting was recently completed in Chennai with Ravi, Tamanna and Shaam taking part, sources say. “Ravi and Raja are extremely happy about the final output,” they add.
The film which has music score by Yuvan Shankar Raja is currently on the editor’s table, we learn. Prabhu, Santhanam and a long list of prominent faces are there in this movie, which is expected to hit screen after June.
Ajith’sbirthday celebrations
Ajith has requested his fans to refrain from visiting his house on his birthday, which falls on May 1st. The actor, in a press note, has said that since he is on a Europe tour to take part in the Formula 2 car race, he would not be available in Chennai to celebrate his birthday.
He also made it clear that the fans should not celebrate his birthday in an overtly grand manner and not to hinder the daily lives of the public in the name of birthday celebrations.
WHY THYAGARAJAN REFUSED TO work WITH VIJAY?
Noted actor-director Thyagarajan played Nayan’s father in the Malayalam smash hit film Bodyguard. When director Siddique, who is directing the Tamil version of this film with Vijay in the lead, wanted Thyagarajan to play the same role but he refused it. Enquiries in Kollywood revealed that Thyagarajan is busy directing and producing Ponnar Shankar with his son Prashanth playing the lead role and hence decided not to take up the offer.
Eventually, the role was bagged by Raj Kiran, who plays Asin’s dad in Kaavalkaran.
PRAKASH RAJ TO ANNOUNCE HIS MARRIAGE!
Prakash Raj is gearing up for the release of the Kannada film Maanu Nanna Kansu, which is the remake of the Tamil hit film Abhiyum Naanum. He had also directed this film, apart from playing the lead role.
There have been reports that Prakash is ready to tie the nuptial knot once again and there were a lot of speculations pertaining to it. The actor, however, does not deny this and has said that the formal announcement would be made soon. Sources say that Prakash’s ladylove is none other than the Bollywood choreographer Poney Varma.
Sura: The action begins today!
Ilaya Thalapathi Vijay’s career will cross the first landmark on April 30 with the release of ‘Sura’. Vijay's land mark film ‘Sura’ is all set to rock from today. The 50th film of Vijay produced by Sun Pictures will release in 600 screens across the world which is a new record for a Vijay film.
In Chennai city alone 16 theatres will screen ‘Sura’ and which is again a new milestone in Vijay's career.
The golden Jubilee film of Vijay has no competitor for the first three weeks and that will ensure a powerful opening for three weeks. The songs are already topping the charts.
Directed by S P Rajkumar 'Sura' has all the ingredients for winning. To boost the prospects further ‘Sura’ has the current sensation Tamannah as heroine.
Vijay is very happy with the final film and has expressed his interest in doing another film with S P Rajkumar.
Ranjitha breaks her silence
Ranjitha has finally surfaced after her video clipping with the controversial Godman Nithyananda was shown on a private channel.
Ranjitha has issued through her lawyers PM Law Chambers, New Delhi a statement- “Our client strongly objects to being referred to as one of the persons in the video. The said imputation by anyone is causing unnecessary loss of reputation, mental harassment, agony, loss of earnings, which are all actionable wrongs.”
The statement also pointed out that that there was a “huge conspiracy” against the actor and declared that she would fight until the end to stop “criminalisation of journalism”. Her lawyers also made it clear that they would be taking legal action against the perpetrators for defamation and other offences under the IPC, besides provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000.
Ranjitha’s lawyers also made it clear that all the “interviews” attributed to her which appeared in some Tamil magazines were “totally fabricated”.

Karthi’s Paiya as Aawara in telugu
Aawara, the Telugu version of Tamil superhit film Paiya, is all set to hit the screens on May 7. The movie has broken the records of block busters like Sivaji, Vettaikaran and Dasavatharam in terms of collection in Kollywood.
Buzz up!The movie stars Karthi (brother of actor Surya) and Tamanna in lead roles. Bollywood actor Milind Soman has played the villain role. The movie is directed by Lingusamy, who has given hit films like Run and Anandam, which belonged to different genres. The director says, "My earlier film Pandem Kodi was a big hit in Telugu. I am confident Aawara would be a bigger hit than my earlier films."
Speaking about the film, Karthi says, "We have ensured dubbing in a perfect manner and on the lines of a straight film. Linguswamy’s direction and Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music would be assets for the movie."
Producer Gnanavel Raja says, "There is a very good response for the audio, which indicates that the film would also be a success. Karthi has already become famous with his recent film Yuganiki Okkadu and I am sure that he would earn more name after Aawara release."
